However, domestic travelers differ from international ones, as they are often bound by tighter budgets. Consequently, the challenge became creating activities that were affordable yet still appealing to traditional tourism.

With most of the population engaged in agriculture, agro-tourism presented the most plausible solution. This approach sparked local interest and remained within the budget of the majority.

Canine Safaris Ltd’s Initiative

Consequently, Canine Safaris Ltd is at the forefront of this new tourism model. Through its revolutionary project, Oweitu Ni’Nkore, the company has captured the attention of many stakeholders in the sector. Notably, this project addresses many sustainability challenges faced by the industry. Specifically designed for the domestic market, Oweitu Ni’Nkore is budget-friendly and enhances livelihoods. In fact, the name means “Our Home is Ankole Land.”

This area focuses on creating unique, locally sourced regional trails that incorporate demonstration farms, natural resources, and cultural sites.
