Quest Software at COMEUP 2024 Global Startup Festival in Seoul

Seoul, South Korea, Uganda’s homegrown travel tech innovator, we at Canine Safaris Ltd, made waves at COMEUP Global Startups Festival 2024, one of the world’s most influential startup festivals, held at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, from December 11th to 12th, 2024. The event brought together startups, investors, and industry leaders from over 180 countries, under the theme “Innovation Beyond Borders.”

Representing Uganda on a global platform, we showcased our flagship product, Quest Software, a travel planning and booking solution designed to revolutionize how African tour operators manage trips from itinerary creation to real-time costing and seamless booking management.

Africa Meets Asia in Innovation Exchange

Our participation was facilitated through the Youth Startup Academy Uganda (YSAU) program, with support from KOSME (Korea SMEs and Startups Agency), the International Trade Centre, HIVE COLAB, and NITA Uganda. This cross-continental collaboration allowed African innovators like Canine Safaris to exhibit at COMEUP, learn from global peers, and explore opportunities to scale their solutions to new markets.

“COMEUP wasn’t just about pitching our product. It was about connecting with a global community that believes in innovation without borders,” said Devin Itaagi, CEO of Canine Safaris Ltd.
“As an African founder, standing in Seoul to talk about a Ugandan built software empowering local tour operators was not only humbling but incredibly inspiring. It shows how far we’ve come and how far we can go.”

Quest Software: Uganda’s Travel-Tech Export

At the heart of Canine Safaris’ exhibition was Quest Software, a platform built to solve one of Africa’s persistent tourism challenges: the inefficient and manual process of travel planning. Quest enables tour operators to create customized itineraries, calculate real-time package costs, automate bookings, and collaborate with service providers through a centralized dashboard.

With African tour companies often losing up to 12 hours per trip due to scattered tools and communication gaps, Quest Software offers a smarter, faster, and more scalable way to work. It’s growing adoption in East Africa is positioning us as a pioneer in tourism digitization across the region.

A Platform for Growth and Globalization

COMEUP 2024 provided more than just a platform for pitching it opened doors to investors, potential partnerships, and insights into market expansion, particularly in Asia.

“Events like COMEUP help us realize we are part of a much bigger innovation story,” Devin added.
“We’re not just building software. We’re building a bridge between African potential and global possibilities.”

Looking Forward

With renewed energy from COMEUP, our plans to expand the reach of Quest Software beyond East Africa, pursue integrations with global travel platforms, and continue refining its product based on feedback from international stakeholders.

The company is also advocating for more African startups to step onto global stages, proving that bold ideas born in Africa can solve universal problems.
