Travel planning Software at GITEX Africa.
Marrakech, Morocco, In a powerful demonstration of Uganda’s growing tech innovation landscape, Canine Safaris Ltd proudly exhibited Quest Software at GITEX Africa, the continent’s largest technology and startup exhibition, held in Morocco. The company showcased Quest Software, a revolutionary travel planning and booking management platform designed to transform how African tour operators run their businesses.
Championing Ugandan Innovation on a Global Stage in Africa
Canine Safaris Ltd was among the selected startups under the Youth Startup Academy Uganda (YSAU) an accelerator program supported by the Korean Government’s KOSME initiative and delivered by Hive Colab tasked with flying Uganda’s innovation flag at this high-profile event. Canine Safaris Ltd represented by Itaagi Devin, the Chief Executive Officer, used the opportunity to pitch Quest Software to international stakeholders, investors, and tourism technology professionals, receiving commendable interest and validation.
“It was an honor to not only represent Uganda but also introduce a solution built from real industry pain points. Quest Software is our response to the inefficiencies tour operators face every day,” said Devin.
Introducing Quest Software – Made for Traveling Africa, Built to Scale Globally
Quest Software is an all-in-one digital platform that simplifies how tour operators create itineraries, calculate costs, manage bookings, and engage with service providers. Developed by Canine Safaris Ltd, Quest directly addresses a longstanding problem in African tourism: manual, time-consuming trip planning processes that hinder efficiency, responsiveness, and profitability.
The software features a robust itinerary builder with real-time cost computation, a centralized dashboard for booking management, integrated payment processing, and a collaborative portal where hotels, car rental services, and activity operators can update availability and rates in real time.
This innovation cuts down the average 12+ hours tour operators typically spend planning a single trip and allows them to deliver personalized, professionally priced packages in just minutes.
Strategic Partnerships and Global Recognition on traveling
While at GITEX Africa, Canine Safaris Ltd also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Flitto Inc, a South Korean artificial intelligence company. The partnership aims to leverage AI technology to digitally preserve and promote African languages and dialects, further aligning with Canine Safaris’ mission to protect and showcase cultural heritage through responsible tourism and innovation.
The event also marked a significant milestone for Quest Software’s visibility. The product emerged among the top five finalists at the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge, selected from over 150 entries across the continent, a clear testament to its relevance and impact.
What This Means for Africa’s Tourism And Travel Industry
By showcasing at GITEX Africa, Canine Safaris demonstrated that African-born solutions can solve African problems and compete globally. Quest Software is not only reducing operational burdens for tour operators but also enhancing service delivery, pricing transparency, and client satisfaction.
As tourism across the continent rebounds, tools like Quest will play a pivotal role in modernizing the industry, empowering SMEs, and building a resilient, digitally-driven future for travel in Africa.
Looking Ahead
Canine Safaris Ltd is now focused on onboarding tour operators, accommodation providers, and activity organizers across Uganda and East Africa onto the Quest platform. With international interest sparked by GITEX Africa, the company is also in discussions with potential partners for expansion, localization, and integration with national tourism systems.
“This is just the beginning,” Devin added. “We’re building a platform that empowers every African tour operator to compete with global giants efficiently, affordably, and with cultural pride.”
