Quest Software Innovation at GITEX GLOBAL 2024 in Dubai
Dubai, UAE, Canine Safaris Ltd, a rising star in Africa’s travel-tech space, proudly exhibited at GITEX GLOBAL 2024, the world’s largest tech and startup event. This was held from October 14th to 18th at the Dubai World Trade Centre. We showcased our flagship product, Quest Software, a revolutionary digital platform that’s transforming how tour operators plan, cost, and manage travel experiences across Africa.
An African quest software Innovation on a Global Platform
Canine Safaris Ltd was among the select group of Ugandan startups sponsored under the Youth Startup Academy Uganda (YSAU). Which was powered by HIVE COLAB, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), International Trade Centre (ITC), and NITA Uganda. The opportunity allowed us to pitch Quest Software on an international stage, alongside thousands of exhibitors and startups from over 170 countries.
“Participating in GITEX GLOBAL was more than just an exhibition, it was a declaration that Africa is ready to lead in travel technology,” said Devin Itaagi, CEO and Founder of Canine Safaris Ltd.
“We came to Dubai with a clear goal: to show the world how our solution, built from the ground up in Uganda, is solving problems tour operators face every day across the continent.”
Solving Real Challenges in Tourism with Quest software
Quest Software is designed to streamline and automate the entire travel planning process for tour operators. By centralizing data, offering real-time itinerary costing, and managing bookings all in one platform. Quest eliminates the inefficiencies caused by fragmented systems and manual processes.
The software’s ability to cut down planning time from hours to minutes is a game-changer for African tour operators, especially small and medium enterprises that struggle with resource constraints.
“With Quest, we are giving back time to tour operators, time they can use to create better customer experiences and grow their businesses,” Devin shared.
“Travel should feel like magic, not paperwork. And we built Quest to bring that magic back.”
The Power of Global Exposure
While in Dubai, we engaged with tech leaders, venture capitalists, government delegations, and ecosystem builders from around the world. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many recognizing the potential of Quest Software to scale beyond East Africa.
“People were surprised when they heard this was built in Uganda. But that’s exactly the narrative we want to change. African startups are building world-class solutions. We just need platforms like GITEX to amplify our work,” Devin added.
The team also explored partnerships with potential distributors and technology collaborators, marking a key step toward the global scaling of Quest Software.
Empowering African Startups through YSAU
The participation was made possible through the Youth Startup Academy Uganda. An initiative that empowers early-stage Ugandan entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, and international exposure. The program’s support was instrumental in enabling Canine Safaris to travel, exhibit, and connect at GITEX.
“We are incredibly grateful to YSAU, KOSME, and HIVE COLAB for believing in our vision,” said Devin.
“This journey to Dubai shows what’s possible when local innovation meets global opportunity.”
What’s Next for Canine Safaris?
Buoyed by the energy and connections made at GITEX GLOBAL, Canine Safaris is now ramping up efforts to onboard new tour operators across Uganda and East Africa. While also opening up conversations with international partners. The company is also planning new feature rollouts within Quest Software, including AI-enhanced itinerary suggestions and deeper integrations with regional service providers.
